My first burr
I found this oak burr on ebay and got it for a fraction of what they normally sell for. It was huge and needed trimming before it would fit on the lathe.
I used the offcuts to make place mats and coasters.
It was tricky to make this bowl because of the varying density (including numerous holes), but I managed to stabilise the bark with copious amounts of Danish oil and this is what emerged.
We loved the resulting bowl, and this one is a definite keeper!
