Shallow lignum vitae bowl. This was extremely difficult to make, the wood fought back as I was shaping it and it flew across the workshop a few times. (£20)
A small lignum vitae pedestal bowl, made from the remaining half of a lawn bowl.
Sold before I managed to put it on here.
Lignum vitae bowl mostly keeping the original shape of the lawn bowl used to make it (£30)
Lignum vitae bowl. Incredibly dense and hard wood, made from a very old lawn bowl. Really high gloss finish.
Lignum vitae bowl #2. Made from a very old lawn bowl. Some age-related cracks in the wood but I think they add to the character. (£30)
Lignum vitae bowl #3. I decided to preserve the overall shape of the lawn bowl it was made from. (£30)
Horse chestnut burl and resin bowl. My first hybrid bowl, the blue resin compliments the wood well. (£30)
Large burr oak bowl. Dramatic demonstration of the layers in a burr (or burl) showing holes, pippy patterns, and a live edge.
Pair of English walnut pedestal bowls, would grace any table, but dramatically displayed here on a river table.
Segmented pine bowl. This started as an experiment to try to use up some pine planks but it worked out pretty well. (£18)
Spalted birch bowl. More spalted colour changes here. As well as colour changes, the density varies which can make working difficult.
Two spalted birch and two cherry bowls. Quite marked colour changes in the birch. These were some of my earliest bowls.
