Welcome to Handcrafted by Andrew, unique and bespoke creations made in the High Peak. What began as a simple enjoyment of working with wood has evolved into a mindful passion, creating unique, bespoke items. Every piece tells a story, shaped with dedication and a genuine love for the craft.

The spark that started it all

My journey with wood began with a deep appreciation for its natural beauty and the satisfaction of working with my hands. After a change of circumstances, this cherished hobby truly blossomed, allowing me to explore a broader range of projects. I find immense peace and focus in shaping wood; it’s a mindful and (mostly) relaxing process.

I try to recycle/reuse/upcycle wood whenever possible, and take inspiration from the wood to guide the final items.

From turning pens to pouring resin

I truly enjoy the variety my craft offers. Lathe work is a particular favourite, where I love transforming raw timber into elegant pens, intricate bowls, and practical utensil handles. The challenge of incorporating resin into my projects also excites me, leading to captivating river tables and unique hybrid wood/resin creations.

What gives me the greatest satisfaction is creating unique, bespoke items that perfectly match your vision. Whether it's a personalised pen, perhaps engraved with a special name or nickname, or a grander commission like a series of distinctive lava tables, I take pride in crafting truly one-of-a-kind pieces. Special requests are always welcome.

Personalisation

 

A personalisation service is available for most items.

Names can be engraved onto pens, formatted for right- or left-handed use, and can be inscribed onto most items. 

My laser engraver can also personalise mirrors by burning the silver layer away. This allows either a contrast colour to be used behind, or even illumination of the engraving (see Clocks and mirrors)
